According to the current EU regulations, varnishes for cosmetic containers have to be food safe and are no longer permitted to contain certain critical substances – also for the writing instruments industry, harmless colours are important.
The requirements extend far beyond REACH.
Together with a partner, POLYTEC have modified existing systems, found other binding agents and can now offer a wide spectrum of food safe and bio-compatible colours and clear varnishes (in accordance with EU regulation 1935/2004, Art. 3). These are available to other branches as well of course.
